Closet organizing is the backbone of my business, and what I would call a crucial component to starting to live your new decluttered life. Closet Organizing is a multi-step process that needs to be followed in order to make the most of my services.
First, we will empty your entire closet and review the condition of the closet itself. The shelves, hanging poles, the overall storage, etc. This will help us later determine if the closet is suitable for the ultimate goal of the project, or whether additional closet design is required.
The next step to an organized closet is parting ways with clothes you have not worn in awhile. Generally, we will get rid of clothes that you have not worn in the last 12-months. We will also go through all of your existing items and identify the ones that are worn out and possibly damaged. During the process we will also identify clothes that you may want to replace with new similar items. All of the items we remove will be donated to a local donation center, such as the Goodwill or Salvation Army, assuming they are in good condition.
Once we identify the clothes that you will keep we will start organizing them by type and color. All of your shirts, pants, jackets, shoes and accessories will be separated and neatly placed back in a designated space.
Once your closet is organized and put back together, we will discuss routine maintenance to keep clean moving forward. Learn more about our maintenance program here →
